NCHS TRACK PLAYER MELISSA ROWHER RANKED AS TOP GIRLS TRIPLE JUMPER IN THE STATE

Nampa Christian High School’s junior Melissa Rohwer (Nampa) was recently ranked as the top high school women’s competitor in the entire state of Idaho for the triple jump. Just in the months of March and April, 2010, Melissa has placed first in girls’ triple jump at five track competitions. During the New Plymouth Invitational on April 20, Melissa marked with a triple jump length of 38 feet and 1/2 inches. According to statistics provided on athletic.net, this is the farthest triple jump for the last three years outdoor seasons in the state of Idaho.
Not only has Melissa seen success, but also many of her team mates placed first at the most recent New Plymouth Invitational. Many of the Nampa Christian women’s team placed first, including freshman Alison Silva (Nampa) in 100 Meters, freshman Kylie Weatherford (Kuna) first in 400 Meters and Pole Vault, junior Courtney Schroeder (Caldwell) first in 100 m Hurdles, sophomore Alissa Weatherford, first in 300m Hurdles and the Women’s 4x100 Relay team members junior Courtney Schroeder, sophomore Alissa Weatherford, senior Amelia Rohwer, and freshman Alison Silva
In addition, the Nampa Christian men’s competition placed first in several of the New Plymouth results. Nampa Christian senior Cheyne Koltes (Caldwell) placed first in both the 110m and 300m hurdles and the Nampa Christian men’s 4x100 relay team placed first in New Plymouth. The relay team members included senior Austin Fricke (Meridian), sophomore Austin Holton (Nampa), junior Tyler Rogers (Nampa), and junior Brandon May (Nampa). Nampa Christian senior Zach McCleery (Nampa) also placed first in Men’s Discus.
