NAMPA CHRISTIAN ALUM SIEGERSMA IN NAIA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Michael Siegersma, Nampa Christian class of 2009, has been experiencing success with his college football team.  Michael is a junior at Carroll College in Helena, Montana.  Michael has been named All Frontier Conference at cornerback,  has been a major contributor in key games and leads the conference in interceptions with 6 and in the top 10 for interceptions nationally in NAIA football.

According to the Helena Independent Record, after a defeat against “third-ranked Georgetown” in Helena, Montana, the Carroll College Saints “are heading back to the NAIA national championship for the second straight season and the eighth time in 10 years.”  The Helena Independent Record newspaper article continued to explain, “The Saints’ defense shut down the Tigers’ first drive when cornerback Mike Siegersma batted away a Neal Pawsat pass in Carroll territory.”  Michael was responsible for breaking up two of Pawsat’s pass attempts during this game against Georgetown.

As for next steps for the Carroll College football team, the reigning champions will face Saint Xavier in the title tilt Dec. 17.  The game will be televised on CBS Sports

Michael Siegersma (2009) is the son of Mike and Wendy Siegersma and brother to Jeana Siegersma who is currently a senior at Nampa Christian High School
